Job Title: Sr. Scientist/Scientist, Antibody Development

Aviva Systems Biology is a fast paced, mid stage life sciences research tools company located in San Diego, CA. We commercialize life science tools and reagents for research, drug discovery, and diagnostics.

Location: San Diego, CA

How will you make an impact?

As part of a great team, our Antibody Development Sr. Scientist will have responsibility for the development of research products centered around antibody-based workflow solutions including Western, ELISA, IF, and single cell biology applications. You will work cross-functionally with marketing communications, sales, product management, and manufacturing to develop new products in support of the company’s growth strategy. This is a highly collaborative role where you will directly impact the company’s revenue growth.

The selected candidate for this position will:

  • Work closely with the company leaders to achieve NPI and corporate revenue goals.
  • Lead strategic and tactical planning efforts around new product development and key market segments to make investment recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Manage a recombinant antibody development workflow to address an aggressive new product introduction strategy.
  • Develop product portfolio roadmap in collaboration with marketing and product management.
  • Ensure high technical quality content of marketing materials including collateral, web, sales tools, flyers, videos, white papers, case studies, and customer testimonials.
  • Assist commercial teams and product management in product and market knowledge (tradeshow / event support, sales support, training).
  • Report on product development performance, trends, and corrective actions.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Ph.D. in life science or related subject.

Experience:

  • Experience in recombinant antibody development, particularly focused on single B-cell sorting, immunophenotyping, and monoclonal antibody isolation
  • Experience with immunofluorescence/immunohistochemistry applications.
  • Experience with workflow product development (reagent / instrument solutions).
  • 3+ years’ experience in recombinant antibody cloning.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ph.D. degree in life science or related subject.
  • Experience in recombinant Ab development.
  • Single-cell sorting and/or flow cytometry, experience with Sony SH800S preferred
  • Assay and Application experience ncluding - Immunoassay, Western and IF/IHC applications.
  • Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills (with all levels within the organization), including diplomacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage junior laboratory members to pursue company goals.
  • Scientific subject matter expert as demonstrated at conferences and with business partners.
  • Results-oriented and dedicated to providing high quality customer experience.
  • Goal-oriented individual with demonstrated record of achievement.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel, including international, may be required approximately 20% of the time.

Job Title: Product Data Analyst

Aviva Systems Biology is a fast-paced, mid-stage life sciences research tools company located in San Diego, CA. We commercialize life science tools and reagents for research, drug discovery, and diagnostics.

Location: San Diego, CA

How will you make an impact?

The data analyst will manage Aviva’s catalog of over 500,000 life science tools and reagents. Qualified candidates will have 1+ years of experience working with large databases. This role will ultimately manage upkeep and integrity of all SaaS and internal databases including Website, ERP, and CRM.

This is a highly collaborative role which will interface with cross-functional departments to support business reporting needs. Clear communication skills and careful execution with attention to details are a must. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a highly focused team.

What will you do?

  • Maintain integrity of Aviva’s product catalog and manage updates for over 500k items.
  • Ensure integrity of data flowing between web and ERP, optimize process and workflows.
  • Manage product data image uploads and understand image requirements.
  • Manage customer and contact data updates to CRM.
  • Manage pipeline for vendor updates, pricing updates, and new product launches.
  • Develop workflow to synchronize product data across multiple discrete databases.
  • Execute data queries across multiple data sources to support business reporting needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Sciences, or other technical discipline.

Experience:

  • 1+ years product data management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling large data sets from various sources.
  • Experience in the design and management of relational databases: MySQL, Access DB.
  • Experience with Magento 2 and NetSuite ERP a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Freshsales, or other CRM a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear communicator who can articulate complex data concepts and strategies to stakeholders of all levels and experience.
  • Strong quantitative skills with hands on experience analyzing large amounts of data.
  • Ability to meet multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
